European Crypto Regulation Direction Seen Changing

0922 GMT - Europe's regulatory posture around digital assets is changing in order to prioritize competitiveness and growth, the Central Bank of Ireland's Rosemary Hanna says. "Financial services regulation in Europe has become something of a spaghetti junction," Hanna says at the Digital Assets Week conference in London. But efforts to amend Europe's flagship crypto rules--the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation--and to modernize Europe's distributed ledger technology regulations signal a move to make policy more digital-asset friendly, Hanna says. "There is maybe a new wind blowing in Europe."
