South Korean e-commerce major Coupang has filed two lawsuits seeking to overturn fines totaling 624.7 billion won imposed by Korean privacy regulator, Personal Information Protection Commission, over a data breach and the unauthorized collection of users' browsing records, Seoul Economic Daily reported Thursday, citing legal sources.

The lawsuits, filed at the Seoul Administrative Court on Wednesday, cover the cancellation of a 423.575 billion won fine related to the data breach and a 201.106 billion won penalty over unauthorized collection of online activity records.

The lawsuit also seeks a stay on execution of the penalties imposed after the personal data of 37.55 million customers was leaked in a security failure.

Coupang did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
