Japanese stocks extended gains on Tuesday after a tech-led rally pushed Nasdaq to a record close, with Nvidia and Microsoft among the major gainers, and longer-term Treasury yields near multi-decade highs.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 closed up 737.12 points, or 1.05%, at 70,683.98.
Oil remained low after Gulf energy flows excluding Iran surged to over 81% of pre-war levels in September, and supplies from Saudi Arabia improved even as attacks on its oil infrastructure led by Iran-backed Houthis escalated tensions in the Middle East.
On the corporate side, Suzuki Motor (TYO:7269) will start selling e SKY, its first mini passenger electric vehicle, in Japan from Nov. 16, according to a Tuesday statement.
Also, Mr Max (TYO:8203) said data on more than 1.7 million members of its app and online store leaked after a third party gained unauthorized access to its servers, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Tuesday.
