Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology (HKG:9863) is planning to launch a new plug-in hybrid vehicle despite the European Union's efforts to limit Chinese imports, Bloomberg reported Thursday citing the company's co-President Michael Wu.

The company, intending to roll out the model in Europe in the first half of 2027, dismissed the effect of potential EU import restrictions, the report said.

It is yet unsure whether the new EU policy regarding curbs on hybrid vehicles from China will take effect, Wu added.
