Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Waymo said Tuesday it is laying the groundwork for a fully autonomous ride hailing service in Munich, Germany, toward the end of next year.
Waymo said it will start with mapping of local street networks and testing with autonomous specialists behind the wheel.
The company said it plans to open commercial ride-hailing to the public toward the end of 2027 after a validation period.
