Aug 27
0817 ET - Dollar Tree and Dollar General both report higher profit and sales in 2Q, but the rival discount retailers' outlooks for the remainder of year diverge. Dollar Tree issues a soft outlook for the current quarter, expecting profit to come under pressure as the company reinvests tariff refunds back into the business. The company also backs its full-year sales forecast. On the other hand, Dollar General lifts its outlook for the year, boosted by continued demand for the company's low-cost goods. Dollar Tree falls 5% premarket, while Dollar General jumps 7%.
