Boston Beer's finance chief is leaving the brewer to take on the same position at ingredient maker Ingredion.

Diego Reynoso will leave Boston Beer on Sept. 14, and start at Ingredion on Oct. 1, according to separate releases from the companies on Thursday.

Reynoso's appointment at Ingredion comes after former Chief Financial Officer James Gray retired at the end of March. Jason Payant, Ingredion's vice president, finance, global texture and healthful solutions, has been CFO on an interim basis.

Before Boston Beer, Reynoso worked at Tyson Foods, Constellation Brands, Beam Suntory, Danone and Procter & Gamble.

Boston Beer named Chief Accounting Officer Matt Murphy as interim CFO and treasurer, effective Sept. 15. He joined Boston Beer in 2006 as corporate controller and was later appointed to his current role. He was interim CFO in 2023 before Reynoso stepped into the company's top finance job.

Boston Beer said it has started a search to identify its next CFO and will consider both internal and external candidates.
