Stocks to Watch: Ross Stores, Flowers Foods

Ross Stores raised its full-year outlook as the off-price retailer sees higher demand from both new and existing customers. The company recorded same-store sales up 10% in the second quarter, helping it beat Wall Street's expectations on both its top and bottom lines. Shares rose 8.3%, to $247.88, in late trading.

Flowers Foods lowered its full-year outlook as second-quarter sales fell. The packaged bakery goods company said results were hurt by a challenging consumer environment, increased marketing expenses and higher labor and freight costs, partly offset by lower interest expense and moderating ingredient costs. The stock fell 4.4%, to $6.79, after hours.
