1009 GMT - Investors are demanding higher compensation for investing in bonds as governments and corporates compete for funding, Saxo's Charu Chanana says in a note. Rising expenditure on defense, infrastructure and AI projects are leading to high demand for capital, driving up bond yields, she says. Concerns about long-term inflation due to the prolonged Middle East conflict are also contributing to higher government bond yields, Chanana says. U.S. 30-year Treasury yields hit 5.333%, a 19-year high, Tradeweb data show. Ten-year German Bund yields climb to 3.263%, their highest since 2011, according to LSEG data.
