Acer's (TPE:2353) chief operating officer, Jerry Kao, has resigned from his position on Aug. 14, according to a same-day Taiwan Exchange filing.
Shares dropped about 4% in Monday's late morning trade.
Kao was also president of Acer's IT Products Business, the electronics manufacturer said.
Acer has not yet named a successor, while Chairman and CEO Jason Chen will concurrently assume Kao's responsibilities until a new COO is appointed.
