Diageo (DEO) has agreed to change the formulations of several whisky and rum brands in India to resolve issues flagged by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India over added flavorings, Reuters reported Monday, citing two government sources.
The changes will apply to the affected products made across India, the report said.
United Spirits, Diageo's Indian unit, will also add clearer disclosures identifying flavorings used in the products during the transition to new formulations, according to the report.
Diageo and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
