Celltrion's (KRX:068270) French healthcare unit Gifrer has begun full-scale operations following the completion of post-acquisition integration and restructuring.
The company expects Gifrer's network of more than 9,000 pharmacies and over 800 hospitals to help expand its reach, according to a Tuesday press release.
Celltrion plans to use the pharmacy network to sell its subcutaneous biosimilars and non-competing third-party healthcare products, while also launching its derma cosmetics brand Zipiderm in France.
The company aims to use France as a test market before gradually expanding the pharmacy sales model across Europe, subject to local regulations and distribution structures.
