Sunstone Metals (ASX:STM) confirmed that recent drilling at the Porotillo and Copete prospects in Ecuador returned wide gold and copper intervals outside the Bramaderos project mineral resource, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
Drill hole PTDD020 on the southern edge of Porotillo returned nearly 176 meters grading 0.5 grams per tonne of gold equivalent from surface, including almost 59 meters at 0.66 g/t gold equivalent from surface, the filing said.
The results bring the total number of mineralized holes outside the current resource boundary to 26, supporting a potential resource update, per the filing.
Shares rose 5% in midday trade Tuesday.
