Abacus Global Management (ABX) has amended its complaint to include additional details in its ongoing defamation case against Coventry First and its founder and executive chairman, Alan Buerger, Abacus said Wednesday.
Abacus said the proposed filing details Coventry and Buerger's "rampant use of false and misleading statements," with Coventry potentially liable for more than $100 million.
The amended complaint lists nearly 20 allegedly false and misleading statements about Abacus and its operations, the company said.
"Coventry's attacks on Abacus over the last three years were never a series of isolated remarks, but rather part of a sustained, coordinated misinformation campaign intended to harm Abacus's business and reputation," Abacus quoted its chief executive officer Jay Jackson as saying.
Coventry did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
