China will speed up the creation of rules to recycle wind and solar power equipment and set up a closed-loop management system for solid waste recycling by 2030, state-owned China Central Television reported Sunday, citing an official of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

The system will cover what it calls the new three types of solid waste by 2030, the report said, citing Wang Shancheng, the director of resource conservation and environmental protection at the NDRC.

Beijing will also strictly implement the scrapping of new energy vehicles and their batteries and crack down on illegal recycling and dismantling operations, and construct recycling laboratories, CCTV reported.
