James Hardie Industries (ASX:JHX) will defend itself in class-action proceedings filed in the Supreme Court of Victoria alleging that it breached securities and consumer law with respect to guidance issued in 2025, according to an Aug. 14 filing with the Australian bourse.
"James Hardie considers that it has at all times complied with its disclosure obligations, denies any liability and will vigorously defend the proceedings," the company said.
The proceeding is brought on behalf of people who acquired an interest in the company's securities between May 21, 2025, and Aug. 19, 2025, per the filing.
