There’s no exhaust system. That figure surged to 127,000 during the corresponding period in 2026; an increase of 134 per cent.With electric cars priced below $30,000 now reaching the Australian market and at least 12 more Chinese brands expected to arrive within the next two years, Crawford predicts another wave of buyers.\nFor Australians who remain concerned about driving range, plug-in “super hybrids” are emerging as a potential middle ground.\nSome models from Chery and Jaecoo can reportedly travel more than 1000km using a combination of battery and petrol power, with prices below $60,000.“You can commute all week to work on EV power only and use zero fuel.
