Quantinuum Stock Could Get a Boost from Apple Partner Quanta Computer

What do Apple, Dell Technologies, and Quantinuum have in common? Here's a hint: The answer has nothing to do with quantum computing.

All three companies have partnered with Taiwan-based Quanta Computer, an original design manufacturer that builds hardware for major technology brands. Contrary to what its name implies, Quanta does not focus on quantum systems -- though it did just strike a partnership with a technical leader in the field.

Broomfield, Co.-based Quantinuum said late Thursday that it was working with Quanta to develop critical hardware. The collaboration is meant to expedite Quantinuum's own progress toward building scalable quantum infrastructure, with joint engineering work already underway.

It also signals that Quantinuum is gearing up to produce systems on a larger scale to match its rapid business growth. The company has moved beyond the R&D phase for its upcoming system, Sol, which is slated to launch next year, and has started booking customer capacity ahead of its release.

The collaboration separately affirms Quantinuum's global aspirations. Singapore was selected in 2025 as the first country outside the U.S. to host a physical Quantinuum computer. In March, Quantinuum announced that it has established a research center in the island nation, paving the way to work with local talent and researchers.

CEO Rajeeb Hazra acknowledged in a statement that Quanta had earned a reputation "for industrializing some of the most advanced computing technologies in the world."

The company has supported Big Tech for years, beginning in 1996, when a contract with Dell marked its first large client. Quanta also has worked extensively with Apple, manufacturing several flagship products including its MacBook line of computers.

The company has experience working with quantum developers, too. Quanta struck a strategic partnership with Rigetti Computing last year to accelerate the commercialization of superconducting quantum computers, underpinned by a $35 million equity investment.

The latest announcement came just days after Quantinuum posted its first earnings report since going public. While the stock remains trapped in the post-initial public offering doldrums, having fallen steadily since its listing, shares surged 28% on Wednesday to clinch their best day on record.

Behind the explosive gains were an upbeat full-year outlook and better-than-expected bookings. Encouragingly, demand for Quantinuum's cloud computing services drove a nearly 300% increase in revenue, signaling that the company was building a predictable, recurring income stream.

Daily price movements remain volatile and unpredictable. Shares dropped 4.4% on Friday even as other quantum stocks broadly rallied, potentially suggesting profit-taking following the initial post-earnings surge.

The Quanta partnership could be key to driving sustained momentum. For a freshly public company working to get Wall Street on board, proof Quantinuum can reliably scale complex hardware at commercial volume might be exactly what it needs.
