Ascendis Pharma's Long-Term Potential Intact, Wedbush Says

Ascendis Pharma (ASND) share weakness following its Q2 update was not warranted, as all three commercial products topped consensus revenue estimates and management reiterated long-term revenue targets, Wedbush Securities said in a note Thursday.

The firm sees intact, if not stronger, long-term potential in the company, according to the note.

The brokerage said near-term intellectual property uncertainty around newly launched Yuviwel for achondroplasia likely drove the share decline, but pointed to a strong US launch, with more than 220 unique patient enrollments through July 31, up from over 170 a month earlier.

Wedbush also cited continued growth for Yorvipath, the company's hypoparathyroidism treatment, supported by steady patient demand and a 95% retention rate.

Wedbush maintained its outperform rating on the stock with the price target of $327.
