Applied Materials logged a higher profit and 25% revenue growth in the third quarter. The stock fell 4.8% to $508.75 in after-hours trading on Thursday.
Reddit was selected to join the S&P 500 index. Shares jumped 12% to $176.47 after the bell.
Reuters reported that private-equity firm Silver Lake is in talks to acquire Workday. Shares of Workday closed up 18% at $206.45.
Innventure withdrew guidance for its Accelsius data-center liquid-cooling business, citing dynamics in the artificial intelligence infrastructure market. The stock plunged 46% to $1.95 after the bell.
