NXP Semiconductors Breaks Ground on Site Expansion Project in Malaysia

NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) said Wednesday that it broke ground on its new assembly and test plant in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, to expand an existing facility.

The facility will add 500,000 square feet of production space, bringing the total production space of the site to 900,000 square feet once completed, the company said.

The facility is expected to start ramping production in Q1 2028 and the site's overall output is expected to more than double once fully operational, the company said.
