Nickel Industries (ASX:NIC) said its Excelsior nickel cobalt integrated HPAL-refinery project produced its first nickel cathode, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
This follows the maiden production of mixed hydroxide precipitate at the refinery in July, the company said. First cobalt sulfate production is expected by the end of August.
The company's shares jumped nearly 2% in recent trading on Tuesday.
