Tianjin Pharmaceutical Unit Gets China's Nod for Diabetes Drug Registration

Tianjin Pharmaceutical Da Ren Tang Group (SGX:T14) said its Xinxin Pharmaceutical Plant has a drug registration certificate from China's National Medical Products Administration for a drug used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.
The drug is Saxagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride Sustained-release Tablets (I), according to a Friday filing with the Singapore Exchange.
Da Ren Tang said the approval is not expected to have a material impact on its short-term financial performance.
Production and sales will remain subject to regulatory requirements, market conditions and national policies, the company said.
