1447 GMT - The Gulf Cooperation Council's Islamic insurance sector is expected to expand 10%-12% in 2026 despite the Middle East war, S&P Global Ratings says. Revenue rose nearly 15% on year in the first half, supported by demand for mandatory motor and medical coverage and ongoing infrastructure projects. However, S&P expects growth to moderate in the second half, while supply-chain disruptions from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz have pushed up the cost of car parts and repairs. Credit ratings on GCC Islamic insurers are expected to remain broadly stable over the next 12 months.
