1542 ET - Treasury yields slip ahead of key inflation data amid lasting tensions in the Middle East. Oil prices rise 1%. July CPI is forecast to increase 0.1%, reversing June's 0.4% deflation, with core accelerating to 0.2% from flat, according to a WSJ consensus. The 12-month reading is expected to cool slightly to 3.4% from 3.5%, with core slowing to 2.5% from 2.6%. PPI wholesale inflation, due Thursday, is expected to accelerate from June. An auction of three-year Treasurys shows signs of steady demand. The 10-year yield declines 0.014 percentage point to 4.683% and the two-year falls 0.019 p.p. to 4.217%.
