0936 GMT - Foxconn sees optical networking as a future growth driver as AI infrastructure scales up and demands more bandwidth, company spokesman James Wu says. Foxconn has started shipping its co-packaged optics switches to connect multiple AI cabinets, with plans to expand inside server systems as platforms upgrade, he says. Foxconn is also investing in optical modules, advanced packaging, cables, connectors and power-management technologies. Greater vertical integration and a higher share of in-house production should support margins, while the optical communications market could exceed US$100 billion in coming years, Wu says.
