Health Catalyst shares tumbled after the healthcare software company posted a lower second-quarter revenue and forecast third-quarter and full-year revenue below Wall Street expectations.

Shares were recently down 25% at $1.74.

For the second quarter, Health Catalyst reported revenue of $70.5 million, down 13% from a year earlier at $80.7 million but above analysts' estimates of $69.1 million.

The company posted a net loss of $40.5 million, or 55 cents a share, compared with a loss of $41 million, or 63 cents a share, a year earlier.

The company projected third-quarter revenue of $55 million to $56 million and full-year revenue of $246 million to $249 million, both below analysts' expectations.

Chief Executive Ben Albert said the company exceeded the high end of its revenue guidance and recently completed the divestiture of its Vitalware business and repaid its credit facility debt, strengthening its balance sheet and providing greater financial flexibility.
