Sembcorp Industries' (SGX:U96) Sembcorp Utilities secured conditional approval from Singapore's Energy Market Authority to import 300 megawatts of electricity from Peninsular Malaysia.
The approval is part of a broader EMA grant that covers 900 MW of imports, with the remaining 600 MW awarded to Southern Solar Alliance, according to a statement from the regulator on Friday.
Both Sembcorp and Southern Solar are looking to start commercial operations around 2029.
