Endeavour's Sales Gain Fizz from World Cup

0030 GMT - One question for Jefferies in drinks-to-hotels group Endeavour's update: how much did the FIFA World Cup benefit sales? Analyst Michael Simotas believes sales over the final nine weeks of Endeavour's 2H accelerated across both Retail and Hotels divisions from compared to the first 16 weeks. Retail sales growth improved from 0.7% in the first 16 weeks to 2.1% in the remainder of the period. Hotel sales growth accelerated to 4.6%, from 3.7%. "We believe FIFA World Cup (June 11-July 19) was a tailwind in the last 16 days (FY26 ended June 28) in both businesses," Jefferies says. It thinks the World Cup tailwind could have accounted for all the growth in Retail and half of the Hotels growth in the final nine weeks of 2H.
