Global Lithium Resources (ASX:GL1) has secured regulatory approval for the mining development and closure proposal (MDCP) for its Manna lithium project in Western Australia, paving the way for accelerated project development, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The approval enables early works and key infrastructure development for the integrated Manna-Nova strategy, supporting a 14-year mine plan with multiple open pits, tailings facilities, stockpiles, accommodation, and supporting infrastructure, per the filing.

The milestone will help advance the company toward its final investment decision, scheduled for the fourth quarter, with first direct shipping ore anticipated in the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 and initial 5.5% lithium oxide spodumene concentrate production expected by mid-2027, the filing added.
