HSBC to Launch $1 Billion Share Buyback

HSBC (HKG:0005) is planning to launch a share buyback worth up to $1 billion, according to the lender's earnings results released Tuesday.

The buyback is expected to be concluded by the bank's third quarter results announcement.

Share buybacks were resumed after three quarters following a temporary pause after the lender announced the privatization of Hang Seng Bank.
