Mettler-Toledo International reported higher profit and revenue in the second quarter and raised its full-year earnings outlook.
The precision instrument supplier reported a profit of $232.9 million, or $11.55 a share, compared with a profit of $202.3 million, or $9.76 a share, a year earlier.
Adjusted earnings were $11.46 a share, compared with analysts' expectations of $10.80 a share, according to FactSet.
Revenue rose 4% to $1.03 billion, in line with Wall Street expectations.
Mettler-Toledo said better organic growth across its portfolio, including strength in China and emerging markets, and productivity initiatives supported results.
For the full year, the company expects an adjusted profit of between $47.15 and $47.50 a share, up from $46.30 to $46.95 previously. Analysts polled by FactSet expect $46.67.
For the third quarter, the company expects an adjusted per-share profit of between $12 and $12.15.
