Proto Labs Shares Rise on 2Q Revenue, Earnings Strength

Shares of Proto Labs were higher after the company reported higher second-quarter revenue and earnings.

The stock was 5% higher, at $78.78, in morning trade, and is 70% higher in the past 12 months.

The company, which provides digital manufacturing services, reported a quarterly revenue, of $149.3 million, a 10.6% increase over the second quarter of 2025. Analysts polled by FactSet were looking for revenue of $144.5 million.

Earnings for the quarter were $9.2 million, or 37 cents a share, compared with $4.4 million, or 18 cents a share, in the same quarter last year. Analysts were expecting earnings of $8.9 million, or 38 cents a share.

Proto Labs said total revenue per customer contact increased 16.7% year-over-year. CNC machining revenue grew 13.6% year-over-year during the quarter, and injection molding revenue grew 13.1% year-over-year.

Adjusted earnings for the second quarter were 60 cents a share, compared with the 53 cents a share that analysts had forecast.

For the third quarter, the company expects revenue of $145 million to $153 million, with analysts expecting revenue of $145.7 million.

Proto Labs said it sees third-quarter earnings of 34 cents a share to 42 cents a share, and adjusted earnings of 56 cents to 64 cents a share. Analysts are forecasting earnings of 35 cents a share, and adjusted earnings of 51 cents a share.
