Fair Isaac Isn't Seeing Volume Loss from VantageScore Despite Concerns

Dow Jones

1338 ET - Fair Isaac investors may be overly concerned about rising competition, according to Raymond James analysts Patrick O'Shaughnessy and Henry Thinnes. They say in a note that FICO isn't seeing volume loss from increased usage of competitor VantageScore, which suggests most mortgage lenders are pulling credit scores from both FICO and VantageScore, rather than replacing FICO altogether. "Overall, we continue to expect the competitive debate to remain an overhang for investors, but the lack of observable volume pressure supports our view that FICO's competitive position will prove resilient," the analysts say.
