Johnson Controls International (JCI) has introduced an absorption chiller reference design guide to help data center operators capture waste heat from on-site power generation and convert it into cooling for artificial intelligence workloads, the company said Tuesday.
The framework allows gigawatt-scale facilities to add up to 97 megawatts of computing capacity without expanding power generation, the company said.
The modular architecture reduces cooling-related carbon dioxide emissions and increases power usage effectiveness without on-site water consumption, Johnson Controls added.
