Australian Vanadium (ASX:AVL) and its VSUN Energy unit submitted a stage-two proposal under the Western Australian government's expression of interest process for the Kalgoorlie vanadium battery energy storage system project, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
The company's proposal is for the development of a 50 megawatt/10-hour, or 500 megawatt-hours vanadium flow battery, with its delivery program envisioning commercial operation in 2029, per the filing.
The proposal is subject to the state government's evaluation process, further negotiations, and the execution of definitive agreements, the company said.
