Faeth Therapeutics' (FTH) investigational cancer drug Piktor has a differentiated potential and may see 24% upside from trial results in Q4, followed by breast cancer data next year that may unlock additional value, Oppenheimer said in a note emailed Tuesday.

Oppenheimer said it is estimating risk-adjusted total peak sales of about $1.6 billion.

The recent approval by the US Food and Drug Administration of Celcuity's (CELC) Revtorpyk for breast cancer "validates the multi-node mechanism," Oppenheimer said.

"We believe this validation supports Piktor's probability of success in both breast cancer and endometrial cancer," the note said.

The investment firm added Piktor "could capture meaningful share in community oncology settings with efficacy similar to Revtorpyk."

Oppenheimer started coverage of Faeth Therapeutics with an outperform rating and $60 price target.
