First Community Bank CEO to Retire at Year's End

First Community said the chief executive and president of its bank subsidiary will retire at the end of the year and have his role split into separate positions going forward.

The holding company for First Community Bank said Wednesday that J. Ted Nissen is stepping back on Dec. 31 after four decades in the industry and 31 years at First Community Bank.

Following Nissen's retirement, Vaughan Dozier will take over as the bank's CEO while Joseph "Drew" Painter will become the bank's president.

Dozier will handle bank operations and oversight of its executive leadership team, while Painter will handle commercial and retail banking, financial planning and investment advisory services, and government guaranteed lending.

As part of the leadership transition, Michael Cromer and Trey Werner are taking on the roles of regional executives to each oversee a geographic region of First Community's network of banking offices.
