GE Vernova raised its full-year revenue guidance and lifted its margin expectations after a second-quarter surge in orders boosted its backlog.
The energy company, formed from the breakup of General Electric, said it now expects $45.5 billion to $46.5 billion in revenue for the year, up $1 billion from last year. It also raised its expectations for free cash flow and an adjusted earnings metric margin.
Chief Executive Scott Strazik said the company is sporting a $176 billion backlog and seeing continued revenue growth and margin expansion, thanks to strong global demand.
In the second quarter, orders grew 88% organically, led by its power and electrification segments.
GE Vernova posted a quarterly profit of $649 million, or $2.47 a share, compared with $492 million, or $1.86 a share, in the same quarter a year earlier.
Revenue climbed 22% to $11.1 billion, ahead of analyst projections for $10.79 billion, according to FactSet.
