Walt Disney Faces European Patent Injunction Over Video Codecs

Walt Disney (DIS) is facing another European court injunction for violating video encoding patents, InterDigital (IDCC) said Thursday.
A regional division of the Unified Patent Court upheld the patent and banned Disney from using the codec in 11 countries, the company said.
Disney has the right to appeal the decision, which makes it the second time the European court penalized the company over these specific video encoding formats.
Disney did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
