America's Car-Mart (CRMT) has been exploring potential asset sales that could result in a complete wind down, either in or out of bankruptcy court protection, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The subprime auto dealer recently reported a steep drop in inventory as well as in car sales, while Chief Executive Doug Campbell noted that the company is looking for new financing to reignite operations, the report said.

America's Car-Mart didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
