SAP Shows Prudence with Revenue Guidance

0826 GMT - SAP's decision to reiterate annual revenue guidance shows prudence from the German business-software group, Citi's Balajee Tirupati writes in a note to clients. The company behind the Concur travel and expense management platform continues to expect cloud revenue between 25.8 billion and 26.2 billion euros this year, up 23% to 25% at constant currencies. Tirupati notes growth below the midpoint of guidance is less likely given strength in SAP's current cloud backlog--a closely watched measure of sales that SAP expects over the coming year based on existing contracts. That metric grew 26% at constant currencies in the first half. SAP shares trade 6.3% higher at 136.36 euros. (mauro.orru@wsj.com)
