Reliance Industries is scheduled to report first-quarter results on Friday. Here is what you need to know:
NET PROFIT: Reliance's net profit is expected to have fallen 30% from a year earlier to 190.042 billion rupees, equivalent to $1.97 billion, for the three months ended June, according to a poll of 11 analysts by LSEG.
The stock has fallen 17% so far this year, following a 29% gain in 2025.
WHAT TO WATCH:
--Reliance's oil-to-chemicals segment faced margin pressure in its fiscal fourth quarter amid elevated crude spot premiums, higher freight rates and increased insurance costs due to the Middle East conflict, Motilal Oswal research analysts said in a note. The analysts expect only a modest recovery through FY 2028.
--Jio, its mobile and digital services business, is likely to remain the company's biggest growth driver, thanks to market-share gains in wireless, and the continued ramp-up of offerings, according to Motilal Oswal. Research analysts at Ambit Capital said they view Jio Platforms' coming listing as a critical inflection point. "We believe that post-IPO, [Jio Platforms] is likely to be more disciplined with pricing interventions," they said.
