Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) is accelerating the expansion of its Arizona chip manufacturing operations to capitalize on a multi-year artificial intelligence demand trend, Chief Financial Officer Wendell Huang said in a Sunday interview with CNBC.
Huang said TSMC's additional $100 billion investment in Arizona is backed by strong customer demand and government support, with its 2-nanometer technology expected to drive third-quarter revenue, according to the report.
The company expects limited impact from geopolitical tensions and export controls, with China accounting for about 8% of its revenue, the report added.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
