ArcBest will simplify its brand structure, reduce its workforce by about 2% and consolidate parts of its operating network as the logistics company looks to improve efficiency and profitability.
MoLo Solutions, Panther Premium Logistics and ArcBest Technologies will operate under the ArcBest brand effective Aug. 1, the company said Thursday. ABF Freight will continue as the company's less-than-truckload carrier.
The company also said it will eliminate about 2% of total positions through layoffs and the elimination of certain open roles. In addition, it will consolidate select service centers representing about 1% of its network doors.
ArcBest expects the restructuring to generate about $40 million in annualized cost savings while maintaining service levels.
The changes are intended to simplify customer access to its transportation and logistics offerings, the company said, while better aligning resources with its long-term strategic priorities.
ArcBest said it will continue investing in technology, including its recently launched ArcBest View digital logistics platform.
