Singapore Airlines (SGX:C6L) and its low-cost arm Scoot have cancelled several flights between Singapore and Taiwan due to adverse weather conditions resulting from Typhoon Bavi, according to advisories issued by the airlines.

The airline said it will be contacting all affected customers to inform them about the flight cancellations or changes to the flight schedules. The customers will be reaccommodated on alternative flights or be offered a refund.

Typhoon Bavi is described as one of the largest storms to hit Taiwan in over three decades, Channel News Asia reported.

Singapore Airlines shares were down nearly 1% in early trade on Monday.
