European Indexes Mostly Lower, with ASML a Bright Spot

0718 GMT - European indexes largely edge lower in muted trade. Utilities and consumer staples stocks weaken as the Europe-wide Stoxx 600 slips 0.1%. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 loses 0.5%. London software stocks fall, including a 3.65% drop for Experian after the group reported earnings. France's CAC 40 edges 0.2% lower as luxuries slip, with sector bellwether LVMH falling 0.9%. Germany's DAX is down 0.3% after opening flat, as healthcare and auto stocks slip. Italy's FTSE MIB is also flat, while Spain's IBEX 35 is up 0.1%. The Dutch AEX is flat, though ASML jumps 2.4% after key customer TSMC reported a second-quarter profit jump. (josephmichael.stonor@wsj.com)
