Alkane Resources (ASX:ALK) said extension and infill drilling at the Björkdal gold mine in Sweden boosted confidence in the understanding of vein geometry and grade-controlling structures, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
The company completed an additional 29 drill holes targeting the eastern and northern extensions of the Björkdal mine, encountering intercepts of 81.3 grams per tonnes (g/t) grade of gold over 4.4 meters as well as 31.5 g/t grade of gold over 0.85 meters.
Mineralization remains open at depth and along strike in both the Northern extension and Eastern extension target areas, the company said.
Alkane Resources' shares fell past 1% in early trading on Thursday.
