Pfizer's (PFE) vaccine disputes with Poland and Romania continue, now extending to the countries' air traffic agencies, Bloomberg reported Friday.
Eurocontrol has informed the countries' air traffic controllers that it is halting the transfers of route charges collected from airlines to Poland and Romania as Pfizer seeks to enforce an earlier award for the countries' unpaid Covid-19 vaccine supplies, according to the report.
A Belgian court ordered the countries to fulfill their payment obligations, with an award of 5.6 billion Polish zloty ($1.47 billion) against Poland, Bloomberg reported. According to the report, Pfizer said it is ensuring the countries' compliance through established legal means.
Poland and Romania plan to appeal the ruling, while Poland's air traffic controller is requesting Eurocontrol's resumption of its transfers, Bloomberg added.
Pfizer and Eurocontrol did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
