Australian Lithium Miners' FY 2027 Outlook in Focus

0231 GMT - As Australian lithium producers wrap up FY 2026 results, investor attention is shifting to their FY 2027 outlook, says Macquarie. "Volume growth and capex intensity of brownfield expansion could be a focus area given the recent lithium market volatility," says the bank. It is forecasting PLS FY 2027 capital expenditure 25% above consensus. Macquarie attributes the difference to a conservative view on P2000 project cost escalation, given the prefeasibility study was conducted in mid-2024. For IGO, FY 2027 production guidance will show how badly the Greenbushes' Chemical Grade Plant 3 was damaged in a recent fire, it says. (rhiannon.hoyle@wsj.com; @RhiannonHoyle)
